Extra wide satin ribbon is a product that has grown in popularity over the years, it's not that long ago when you would only find it stocked in a small colour range of White, Red and Black!

Things has changed over the last year especially in this respect and we have been constantly adding and reviewing the colours that we offer in the 100mm wide ribbon range as manufacturers and spinners have started to respond to demand and have introduced new shades.

Since these ribbons are now used for a hoist of activities and products and are no longer just the ribbon for event openings and sports days, we have seen a rise in the demand for additional colours. With this in mind we have taken a leep of faith and increased the number of shades that we are offering to sixteen! These now include these bright additions, namely, Orange, Candy Pink & Easter Yellow.

The new shades feature alongside classic's such as black, white and red. Not forgeting of course the favourite for all Ribbon Printers, pink and cerise the staple colours for all those Hen Night Sashes.

Since the ribbon is single satin rather then double faced satin, it means that it is finished with a smooth high gloss surface one side which takes a foil transfer print very well. Whilst the slight texture on the duller revers of the ribbon give texture and grip for the feed rollers of the ribbon print machines which means that these feed through evenly resulting in a nice straight print, making this an ideal choice for ribbon and sash printers.

Whilst Sash printing was a major use for this style of ribbon we have seen a number of alternative uses and have seen this width starting to be introduced in to wedding and event work as well in the form of ribbon canopy's and ribbon wall back drops. Where this wide 100mm ribbon has been used along side a range of ribbons in contrasting widths and styles to make a stunning backdrop. These new applications have created a demand for some more muted colours and as a result we introduce silver, gold and purple in to the product range. as well as sky blue and pale pink.

All in all this extra wide satin ribbon is becoming more widely used and more versatile as a result I'm sure our range of sixteen shade will not stop at that number sashfor to long and predict the addition of some more colours before the year it over.
